WHERE OUR BLUE PLANET COMES TO LIFE
Why a Festival?
The ocean gives us life, joy and a sense of freedom and sustains our blue planet, yet its vital role is often overlooked.
Ocean Lovers Festival was created to celebrate our connection to the ocean while deepening understanding of why a healthy blue planet matters. Through shared experiences, creativity and hands-on activities, the festival makes ocean science accessible, inspiring and fun.
Set against Sydney’s iconic coastline, Ocean Lovers brings together community, culture, science and business to showcase solutions, spark curiosity and empower people of all ages to take positive action for our ocean future.
For our blue planet.

HOPE FOR
THE OCEAN
OCEAN SMART SCHOOLS
Inspire the next generation of ocean changemakers! Our Ocean Smart Schools program brings ocean literacy and sustainability to life for K–12 students through fun, hands-on incursions, creative competitions like Fish Tank and Litterarty, and engaging excursions that connect classroom learning to real-world ocean challenges. Aligned with the NSW and Australian Curriculum, this dynamic program sparks curiosity, builds knowledge, and empowers students to take action for a healthier blue planet.

Ocean Lovers Festival acknowledges the Bidjigal, Birrabirragal and Gadigal people, who occupied, and never ceded the Sydney Coast. We share their passion to care for country, and respect their traditions that protect and nurture the land and sea.
