DIVE IN!
Sydney is one of the world’s great marine destinations; a harbour that is home to around 600 species of fish, and a thriving underwater ecosystem of marine life largely unrevealed beneath the surface.
Our harbour and beaches are synonymous with brand Australia, but beneath the blue beauty and sparkling shorelines is so much more treasure being restored, nurtured and returned to a thriving and world leading ocean ecosystem.
Scientists, innovators and the community are nurturing this impressive waterway back to robust health and leading the world in demonstrating how an urban metropolis can coexist with the magnificent ocean habitat and creatures.
Dive in to experience our city's wonderous blue heart!

OCEAN SMART SCHOOLS
Inspire the next generation of ocean changemakers! Our Ocean Smart Schools program brings ocean literacy and sustainability to life for K–12 students through fun, hands-on incursions, creative competitions like Fish Tank and Litterarty, and engaging excursions that connect classroom learning to real-world ocean challenges. Aligned with the NSW and Australian Curriculum, this dynamic program sparks curiosity, builds knowledge, and empowers students to take action for a healthier blue planet.

Ocean Lovers Festival acknowledges the Bidjigal, Birrabirragal and Gadigal people, who occupied, and never ceded the Sydney Coast. We share their passion to care for country, and respect their traditions that protect and nurture the land and sea.
